OpenAI released Python SDK 3.42.0 (2026-10-31) adding agent context compaction settings, agent session review and tool settings, experimental agent time awareness, image edit markup overlays, organization external key management, SIP DTMF commands and delivery events, improved WebSocket recovery and warmup, response format updates with local output types, and callable API keys scoped per request. It also fixes preservation of refusal output and authentication in WebSocket helpers.
