Anthropic released Claude Haiku 5.5, its cheapest and fastest small model, aimed at high-volume tasks like summarization, classification, and subagent work, with an adjustable effort setting and availability on AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, and the Claude Platform (model ID claude-haiku-5-5). It costs around 75% less to run than Haiku 4.5 on average (90% lower for prompts up to 100,000 tokens, 50% lower above), and Sonnet 5.5 cache reads were halved to $0.10 per million tokens, cutting Sonnet 5.5 agentic costs by roughly 20%.
