Google released v2.26.0 of the genai Python SDK on 2026-09-30. It adds gcs_metrics_uri for tuning job metrics export, new Gemini 3.8 Flash TTS and Gemini 3.8 Flash Lite TTS models, an environments module with from_environment support, and label support for LiveClientSetup and Gemini API GenerateContent. Bug fixes include resolving a 5-second default timeout issue for Vertex AI interactions and cleaning up aiohttp sessions for closed event loops.
