Anthropic released Python SDK v1.9.0 on 2026-09-28, adding a between_tools thinking type, support for streaming tool calls while the reply streams, and making cache diagnostics generally available on Message and MessageCreateParams. The release also adds the claude-sonnet-5-5 model, include_inherited and source fields to workspace rate limits, and stops sending the beta header from parse and tool runner.
